Ever wonder if there was a place where money and time did not exsist? Well, my brothers and sisters, I have found this place! On the way to the gathering our RV broke down 8 times. We were stuck in Missouri for 36 hours! I walked into a random bar in the middle of nowhere Missouri to see if someone could fix the hipster mobile and this random drunkard was more than happy to help us out. He worked on it for 4 hours and continued the next morning. He would not let us pay him, so we bought him a round of drinks. I was pretty drunk by the time our rv was fixed. The rv was the most ghetto riged mobile that I have ever road in. We had no tail lights, so we taped our led flashlights on the back. It worked until we got to Kansas when a cop pulled us over. He gave us a written warning and we chillaxed in a random parking lot for a little bit. BTW, Kansas is the most scariest place I have ever been to! Almost every billboard had an anti-abortion saying on it. One of them that I remember said, "your mom didn't choose abortion so why should you.?" with a dead fetus on it. Then we hit the road again. There was absolutely nothing in Kansas. I saw 3 people in that entire state! We picked up 4 hitch hikers. Two were just traveling across the country and the other two were going to the rainbow gathering. One of them was named "tree" and told me all about trees for 3 hours straight! We made it to the gathering and set up our camp. It was amazing that we made it there. I never seen so many cops in my life. They were handing out citations at the begining, but gave up as the days passed. It was amazing to be a part of a community where everyone truely cared about everyone else. There were a few exceptions...like the some of the gutter punks and the drunkards in A camp. There were some pretty cool gutter punks that I met. The most amazing part of the gathering was the Om circle. The energies were amazing and at times overwelming. The Rainbow Gathering was completely amazing. I witnessed the most amazing things and things that I still can not explain. The one thing that kind of bothered me was the religous literature that was going around. Some of these religous freaks really tried to convince you that their religion was right and no one else's was. It takes a strong person to block these people out though. I decided to leave a day early because I i wasn't eating or drinking enough. there were so many people and not enough food or water. So I got to the airport and there were NO plans leaving from denver to philly, so I had to catch a plane from denver to boston and boston to NYC. Then I had to take a bus from JFK airport to Penn station and a train to Trenton. Then a friend picked me up from Trenton. I am so pissed at the airline because they lost my bags! They should be dropping them off tonight or tomorrow. The one thing that I got from the Rainbow Gathering is that we all are one family. They do not judge. They accept anyone regardless of your background. I can actually say that this place felt like home. I will meet you all again next year.
